    Hello dear support,

since the update I have this problem:

    – When a customer adds a product into his cart, it adds 1 product, as it should be.
    – After adding some more products to his cart, the cart starts duplicating/adding other quantities to other products that are already in the cart.

We didn’t notice any logical way of the issue, like how or when it starts adding more products into the cart.

We found out that it doesn’t happen, if the customer adds products to his cart out of the procuts page.

It seems to happen when the customer adds products from the shop categories (list of procuts from a chosen category).

We have no idea where this issue may come from.

    With best regards
    Eric

    Hi Eric,

I haven’t been able to reproduce this in my development environment. Can I get a link to the site so I can try it there and see what’s going on?

OK it looks like it’s something to do with the referrer and possibly WPML.

The bug only seems to happen when the referrer URL is an add-to-cart URL (e.g. if the document referrer is “https://www.onderdelinden.de/produkt-kategorie/feine-backwaren/?add-to-cart=7703” sometimes product 7703 gets added to the cart).

WPML also sets a referrer cookie: “wpml_referer_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.onderdelinden.de%2Fprodukt-kategorie%2Ffeine-backwaren%2F%3Fadd-to-cart%3D7703”. I’m not sure what it does with the cookie, but it might be doing something that triggers the add-to-cart.

Anything that makes a request to the referrer URL when the referrer URL is an add-to-cart link will add an item to the cart, so it’s hard to pinpoint.

    Thanks for your advice!
I will contact the WPML Support for that!

    Best regards
    Eric
