Cart not clearing after Free / zero cost item checkout

  • Hello – We have added a free item as a product and when the user checks out, the cart icon still registers there being items in the cart.

    When you click view cart however, the cart is empty and the counter on the cart icon will clear.

    Since the cart isn’t clearing fully after checking out a free item, our abandoned cart plugin is registering the cart as being abandoned and sending an email even though the user has checked out.

    Is there a code snippet or some other way to ensure the cart is properly cleared when checking out an order with 0 value?
