Hey,
We just finished doing a deeper dive on your site and why you are seeing 123 Reg with an empty cart. We had a few follow up question for you. While we think we found the root cause, we would like to know the following information.
– Which Browser are you using?
– And what is your Cookies Rules set around with regards to 3rd party cookies? Any Screenshots of just your browsers Cookie setting will be helpful.
The reason you are probably getting 123Reg is due to a Cookie Session saved in your browser and that cookie is poluting the Reseller Storefront one. Knowing your browser information we can try to isolate the exact issue at hand.Thank you for looking into this.
– Windows 11, Chrome 120.0.6099.224?
– Nothing custom, so whatever Chrome is on a fresh install are my rules https://prnt.sc/ruH8Heca4yK2. I have visited 123 reg in this browser as I have domains with them – in case that is helpful. Also just to add, I was able to replicate this on our actual GoDaddy shop as well, not our WordPress website so perhaps this is an issue there. Today I have tested and for some reason its working on Desktop but not the Mobile site. Not sure if anything changed.
So we did look into this and looks like there is some level of cookies being mixed up if your browser has those cookies saved. So while it wont impact customers who have only visited your site – when going to sites within our system it will cause errors. We are in contact with various teams to look into resolve this. But we wont have an ETA on our end. But it has been marked to look into deeper dive as browsers security increases mostly around cross site cookies.
Sorry this isnt a quick resolution.Yes it sounds like quite a tangled issue. It’s really frustrating for us as almost every one of our new website clients has an embarrassing onboarding experience when we ask them to purchase hosting. The issue has existed and was reported 3 months ago so we can only guess what this has cost all the Resellers and GoDaddy financially. I hope that this is being placed at the highest priority and we appreciate your hard work resolving this. We have joined the GoDaddy Reseller customer forum as there is a lot of discussion and community feedback, testing and experience reporting around the issue there. Do you have access? I think it could help solve this faster: https://www.reseller.rodeo/
Hello @kmarkum666
We’re over three months in now with no customers being able to use the cart. It’s madness. We can’t move reseller as all our customers are already have a lot of products and it would be an embarrassing and expensive process for us. It’s crushing our progress which we worked so hard on. Please can you provide an update.
Thanks, DanWe have been experimenting on the back end with ways to fix this. Issue is browser related with cross domain cookies. Chrome blocks these by default and we have been looking into what structural changes we need to do in order to allow cookies from domains we don’t own to be able to securely pass the cookie on to secureserver.net. We recently had a discussion on what course of action we will be doing on our end to resolve this. But the last few attempts have failed. We have this working being prioritized to start building out a entire new system to handle these request in the coming months. I don’t have an exact date for this feature launch as its a substantive amount of time resources and we had to get other teams all involved with this work. But we do have a plan and path forward.
Thank you for the update. At least we know it’s been worked on and prioritised, that is the main thing. I really hope the solution is completed as swiftly as possible and I appreciate your efforts on it. If there are any intermediary workarounds in the meantime please let me know.
Hi @kmarkum666, I hope you are well. Checking in 4 months later now (7.5 months since reported), still the issue persists with our customers on login and giving an empty cart at checkout. It’s completely broken down our ability to operate as a reseller. I’m hoping you can share some positive news. We want to ask GoDaddy for a refund for this years subscription, I think its only fair. Thanks in advance, Dan

Hey @kmarkum666 or any other of the plug-in developers. I would really appreciate an acknowledgement here even if there is no progress. This empty cart bug and the defaulting USD at cart bug has forced us to stop operating as hosting and domain providers. It’s so frustrating to be so invested in the program customer wise (basically impossible to move everyone to a different reseller) and feel like no one is giving us any support on this issue for coming up to a year. We’ve just been abandoned with no communication. I hope I can appeal to your kindness and hear from you soon.
Thanks in advance, Dan
