• Hi.
I am trying to use the mini cart icon in the header with Astra Free.
I precise that I am using caching on the website (W3 total cache and Cloudflare).
The behavior of the icon is inconsistent :
    – sometime the number of items in the cart is good but if i go on another page of the site it is switching back to 0 and come back to the good value when changing the page again. I suppose it is an issue which the cache, how to fix it?
    – also I don’t know how to customize the right side cart page which appear when I click on the mini cart. Sometimes it appears sometimes it goes to the cart page. I would rather prefer to always go to the cart page.
I did not find any documentation about this mini cart.
    Thank you.

  • Hi @gandulf78,

Regarding the number of the items in the cart, this could be due to the cart cache.

And for the mini cart, the default behavior is that when we hover over the cart icon, a dropdown will show up, and clicking the cart icon will bring us to the Cart page.

The sidebar appears when we click the cart is happening only on the responsive devices.

I hope that clarifies and clears any confusion you may have.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi Herman.
Thank you for your quick answer.
Regarding the cache, would you have any clue of the exception in the caching rules to handle it properly?
Regarding the sidebar, could you please tell me where to find the documentation for implementing it ?
    Thank you ??
    Kind regards.
    Laurent

    Hi @gandulf78,

For the mini cart cache, you might want to ask for some help WooCommerce forum for that.

And regarding the sidebar which shows up when we click the cart icon, it is actually the default behavior. We don’t need to do anything about that. When we are on a tablet or mobile, when we click the cart icon, that sidebar will show up. The only doc available related to this is a doc that will show us how to change the “Shopping Cart” text at the top of that sidebar. This is the link to the doc.

Let us know if you need more help, otherwise please mark the topic as Resolved.

Have a nice day and stay safe!

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??
