    Users to the site are getting the “Please select some product options before adding this product to your cart.” and are unable to add anything to their cart despite choosing their options. Maybe due to recent updates to Woocommerce? Deactivating theme
    Wordpress v 5.0.3
    Theme53954 (as child-theme to Cherry v. 3.1.5)
    Woocommerce 3.5.4
    Any assistance appreciated.

  • Try clearing W3 Super Cache. If the problem continues, deactivate it and test.

    Hi @lorro –Thank you for your reply. Your suggestions had no affect.

    WordPress and WooCommerce use jQuery – a library of Javascript functions.

    The console is showing a JavaScript error: “.parseHTML is not a function”. The code for this function was added to jQuery in jQuery version 1.8. See:
    https://api.jquery.com/jquery.parsehtml/

    Unfortunately, your site is using jQuery 1.7.2, so the function is not available, hence the error. The current WordPress core jQuery version is 1.12.4 – much later.

    Ensure you have the latest available version of your theme.

    If so, I think you’ll need to go to your theme developer with this problem. They should be able to update jQuery, but only to 1.12.4 not higher. That may not be straightforward as there may be new other things that need updating to work with jQuery 1.12.4.

    Can’t be certain about this but that’s the route I would go.

    If you can’t or don’t want to go to your theme developer, just try a different theme momentarily, say Storefront. If the problem does now resolve, you’ll know you need to consider a new theme. Of course that can bring new issues.

    @lorro
    Thanks for your assistance. Been having trouble getting straight answer about the availability of an update to the (child) theme53954 that is employed on the site. Got access to download what I was told was an “update” to this theme but when loaded, get the following message:

    “Your theme (theme53954) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. Suggestions to fix this: …”

    Secondary issue is when I attempt to view Woocommerce System status (to see what template files need updating), the System report page is blank.

    Looking more and more like I have to go with a new theme. Sigh.
