Cart and Checkout Pages not showing up

  • Hello!

    First off let me say I’m impressed with this awesome e-commerce plugin. I’m really excited to see it fully operational on my website if I can haha.

    So, I’ve been trying to include this e-commerce plugin into my website that’s currently running a custom Theme. The Theme doesn’t declare support with woocommerce so I followed all steps to integrate the website with the plugin. I’ve been able to make the Shop page work just fine. The problem is no matter what I try the Cart and Checkout page come up blank. I can only see the Header and footer of my website.

    I also did try updating the PHP version to the recommended one before without sucess.

  • Does your cart page have this shortcode on it:
    [woocommerce_cart]
    and the checkout page needs:
    [woocommerce_checkout]

    Yes. I doublechecked it and it does. Strangely the only page working, the Shop page has nothing written on it

    That’s right, the shop page doesn’t have a shortcode.

    The next thing I would try would be to deactivate all other plugins to be able to rule out any plugin conflict. Does the cart page show now?

    Turning everything off but woocommerce didn’t seem to make any difference. Shop is still working fine but no sign of Cart or Checkout.

    So next, still with other plugins off, try the default theme: 2016. Does it work now?

    Yes! Doing that made the cart page appear at last. So.. is there any kind of “further integration” I can do to make it work with my custom Theme ?

    I think unfortunately you’re on your own with that because no-one else has access to the unique code in a custom theme. However, various WooCommerce compatible themes are available, both free and premium. Using one would relieve you from the burden of maintaining your theme as WooCommerce and WordPress develop over time.
