    Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue on my WooCommerce store where a bot (or possibly a malicious user) is repeatedly abandoning carts using the same name and pattern. Here are the details:

    • Name used: John Smith
    • Email pattern: [email protected]
      [email protected]
    • Frequency: 5-7 cart abandonments daily.
    • Tools in use: WooCommerce Cart Abandonment Recovery (emails enabled for abandoned carts).

    What I’ve tried so far:

    1. Blocking specific IPs (doesn’t work since they seem to change IPs).
    2. Reviewing logs but couldn’t find anything definitive.

    Questions:

    1. How can I block such bot activity effectively (email/domain/name-based or other solutions)?
    2. Are there any recommended plugins or scripts to block repeated patterns like this?
    3. Should I tweak my cart abandonment recovery tool to filter out such spam?

I’m open to suggestions and advanced solutions. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi @billz88,

    Greetings for the day!

To prevent this, I suggest using Google reCaptcha on your checkout pages to block automated submissions. Additionally, you could modify your robots.txt file to restrict bots from accessing your site.

If you’re not sure how to implement these, I recommend reaching out to your hosting support team for guidance on stopping bots from visiting your web pages.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
