• Hello Stackable. First I just want to say what a great plugin you guys have made. By far the most comprehensive and aesthetically pleasing blocks I’ve come across that isn’t paid. Great job!

But I have some issues. I’ve inserted a carousel block on the front page, and by default it generates three slideable columns. i then proceed to insert three hero images (as regular image block, not hero banner block) for each of the three columns. I then went ahead to turn the images into a text overlay block. For some reason the text overlay block does not allow me to use the entire image but forces a focus point, from which it crops the image to become smaller. Interestingly this cropping effect minimizes the images only on desktop. In mobile, there is no cropping, the entire image is there.

Is there a way to simply allow the entire image to show behind the text overlay for both mobile and desktop?

The other problem is that given I did not set the first column image as an image overlay while the 2nd and 3rd columns are, yet the carousel block height is set to the first image(longer), leaving the 2nd and third images(shorter after cropping) with a huge empty space below in desktop mode.

Please advise at your earliest thanks.

    Chun

    Hey @ckwang,

Thank you for your kind words about Stackable! We’re happy to have you with us. ??

Going to your issue, we believe it might not be a Carousel block issue. We inspected the frontend and we see that you are using the native Image block for the first slide and the native Cover block for the second and third slide. It’s the behavior of the native Cover block to crop the image on desktop and display the full image on mobile. You may want to try using Stackable’s Image block and Image box block instead. Then in the Image box block, select the image and reset the height to display the full image.

Please let us know if this helps!

Hi Bernice. I experimented with your blocks this time and I ran into a few issues>

    1. In order to do a image overlay similar to gutenberg blocks, i have to use a paragraph or heading block, then assign a background image to the text block, but the image height is very narrow by default, conforming only to the paramters of the existing text, i have to max out the height in the block settings to give the image full height—but i cannot do this for the width, which only is wide enough to conform to the text
    2. the paragraph block grants more full width to the image but you cannot move the text to center even if you change the settings alignment to center, it still stays in the left margin—there is an additional horizontal alignment settings in the block settings in the header block that truly aligns it as you wish, but this is absent in the paragraph block settings, the floating settings doesnt really do anything, same for the header block

my point: i want to have full original width and height of the background iage irrespective of the length and size of texts, whether paragraph or heading, and i want them to be freely moveable across all areas of the block/image.

thanks! Looking forward to your response

sorry forgot to add—your blocks are being used in the second carousel after the 3 products, please ignore the top most carousel as that is gutenberg blocks thx
