Hi! I went to that page, clicked an image, and was given the Carousel. I was then able to click on the left and right arrows to cycle through the images, without any problems. Did you resolve this on your own, then?

    Hi,

Well, it doesn’t work for me not on FF and not on Chrome, both with latest version.
You see the carousel for a blink of an eye with this URL:
    https://blog.udiburg.com/%D7%A2%D7%A8%D7%91-%D7%9B%D7%99%D7%A4%D7%95%D7%A8-2592012/#jp-carousel-3939
Than it jumps to this URL:
    https://blog.udiburg.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/IMG_1827-1.jpg
Only when I click back on the browser it return to the carousel URL and I can see the images in the carousel.

Again, that link works as expected for me as well. ?? I don’t know why it wouldn’t work for you. Can you try while you are not logged in to the site? If it still happens to you while not logged in to the site, can you try with Firefox’s Safe Mode to make sure it’s not an extension that’s causing this problem?

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

If it doesn’t happen while not logged in, then clearly it’s a plugin that’s causing this, but only for logged-in visitors. Try deactivating them one by one until you find the culprit, or look in the browser’s console for javascript errors which might indicate which plugin is causing it:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/#javascript-errors

Let me know what you turn up!

FF with no login to the site – not working
FF with private browsing – working
So it’s not addons nor plugins.
    Chrome Incognito – not working.
In the FF console I see this message when clicking back in the browser to see the carousel:
This site appears to use a scroll-linked positioning effect. This may not work well with asynchronous panning; see https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/Performance/ScrollLinkedEffects for further details and to join the discussion on related tools and features!

Hmm, I still can’t reproduce this, nor can my colleagues. I also don’t see that particular message in my Firefox console.

    You said:

FF with no login to the site – not working
FF with private browsing – working
    Chrome Incognito – not working.

I’m starting to suspect that you have a browser extension in both browsers that is getting in the way here. Can you make sure that you have turned off ALL the extensions, and then try again? Just going to Chrome Incognito doesn’t automatically turn off all extensions. In FF private browsing, it might have turned off some (but not all), including the one which is maybe causing this.

So, please try with all browser extensions off, and then turn them on one by one. I’m pretty sure you’ll find that one of them is the culprit, since I can’t reproduce this.

As you can see here all my FF addons are disabled
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/jqcn49zthp51z2f/Addons-disabled.jpg?dl=0
    and the issue still happens:
When I click on an image I see the carousel for a blink of an eye followed by the image on the same new tab directly.
Just when I click “back” on the browser the carousel is showing up.
Tried that on a Samsung tablet and all is working fine.
Must be something on my PC. I will look for another PC as well.

It definitely sounds like something on the computer. Maybe an over-active anti-virus program is blocking some key javascript files?

    (@007me)

Checked on another PC, no issue.
All I have is the Windows Defender.
    Odd….

    I’ll continue checking.

    Thanks!!!

I’m really at a loss as to what’s causing this! At least we know it’s limited to that one PC, and I have not heard of any similar cases before. :/

Maybe turn off Windows Defender for a minute, and try again to see if that was it?

    Thread Starter 007me

    (@007me)

    Tried disabling with no success.
The other computers are identical: Win 10 1709, with Windows defender as well.
This is now a challenge for me to find the reason ??

Hi @007me – This might not be a PC specific issue, I was just able to replicate it on my laptop on Chrome, only when clicking on the image to open up the carousel. It doesn’t happen when I try to load the carousel directly using a URL like https://blog.udiburg.com/%D7%A2%D7%A8%D7%91-%D7%9B%D7%99%D7%A4%D7%95%D7%A8-2592012/#jp-carousel-3946

Looking through the developer console in Google, I can see that when the browser loads the direct image, it is being initiated by a script from your Google Analytics for WordPress plugin – Could you try temporarily disabling that plugin and then test to see if the issue still occurs?

    Cheers,
    Lam

    Hi Lam,

    You rock!!!
    That was the issue!!!
I’m using Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights
Now I need to find how to solve it.

Well well, glad Lam saw that! Since we now now the culprit, you can maybe ask them for assistance?
