Carousel Dot Navigation doesn’t seem to do anything

I just tried creating a Carousel for the first time, and I’m noting several oddities.

Selecting “Dot Navigation” seems to make no difference. What does this do? Perhaps I’m having stylesheet issues like the captions problem? Maybe it’s putting it white-on-white?
