Carousel does not work

  • Hi,

    i’m fairly new to wordpress but your theme works great so far.
    The only thing that doesnt work right now is the carousel gallery in my portfolios.

    I set up a portfolio, write a Headline and then added a Gallery with some pictures.
    But when i look at the page, as you can see, it shows the images large, vertically, one after another. And at the end are the same pictures again as a normal gallery.

    Can somebody help me?

  • Hi! This seems to be an issue with the particular gallery block you’re using, but we can do more testing to confirm that.

    In the meantime, can you try swapping it out for another one to see if that helps? You mentioned a slideshow; if you change the block type from Gallery to Slideshow, does that show the slideshow properly? You can change it by clicking on Gallery (List View makes it easier to do that) then tapping the gallery icon. You’ll be offered some alternatives there.

    Also, going forward, since your site is hosted by WordPress.com, you’ll want to post in the correct forums at https://wordpress.com/forums

    i’m not sure, if i should answer here, but i will create a new topic on the correct forum also…

    1. i tried a lot of different photos for a gallery on various “projects” pages, and everytime the chaos happens…

    2. But, with the slideshow everything is displayed correctly. The theme just seems to make chaos with the image gallery, but the design on the demo looks so awesome…

    Hi there,

    Argent predates the block editor by a few years, so it’s very possible it doesn’t support the new Core Gallery block, which works completely differently from the Jetpack Tiled Gallery this theme was made for.

    It’s unlikely that support for the Core gallery block will be added to a theme this old, so make sure to use the Tiled Gallery or the Slideshow blocks instead.

    If the issue happens with the Tiled Gallery block on WordPress.com as well, please report this directly to WordPress.com support at https://wordpress.com/help/contact or the forums link shared above.

    Hi, thanks for your response!

    Yeah, i didnt know it was such an old theme, so this must be the problem…
    When i change to tiled its a normal tiled gallery, so that’s working fine i guess.

    I guess overall im gonna move to a different newer theme, to work better with the amateur skills i got for wordpress and everything works as intended ??
