    In the last few days Card payments have stopped working. After entering all card details in the checkout, user gets the following message:
    OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG. PLEASE TRY A DIFFERENT PAYMENT METHOD

    After a lot of troubleshooting, I’ve found the issue is to do with 3D Secure. If I remove Visa from the list of Supported Card Types in the 3D Secure section of the plugin setup, the card payments work again for Visa. Not tried other card types but sure it will be the same result.

    No failed orders are recorded in Woocommerce. No failed transaction are shown in my Braintree merchant account.

    No plugins or themes had been updated during the period between payments working and not working, so I suspect something has changed with the Braintree SDK, and your plugin needs updating?

    Thanks for reaching out to us. 3D Secure is a fraud protection feature that prevents specific payments that have been marked as a risk. I’ve tested 3D secure on two different accounts using VISA and it works as expected.

    You may want to confirm in your Braintree account that all forms of payment are supported and there are no other limitations.

    Thanks for your reply @johndcoy,

    My 3D Secure settings within my Braintree account are as they should be. Payments have been working for over 2 years. I’ve opened a ticket with Braintree to request they look into any issues with my account, but I suspect they’ll point me back to Woocommerce.

    Braintree have assured me that my account is all fine and correctly configured, and that the problem is with the plugin and woocommerce are aware of the issue:

    We have been informed by WooCommerce that they are temporarily unable to process transactions with 3DS enabled. WooCommerce has suggested that merchants disable 3DS temporarily until the issue is resolved.

    Thanks for doing. Although we cannot replicate the problem disabling 3D secure my be the best solution for now. We are working on version 2 of 3D secure which will be available after April 2019. As long as you’re running the most recent version, you should not have issues with it post that date.
