Captions not displaying in BBPress posts

    I can add images with captions which display correctly in the WP Post editor but once posted to a BBPress forum the shortcodes for the captions seem to be ignored.

    For example, the caption on the images on this post

    This produces the following display on the page

    [caption id="attachment_691" align="alignright" width="300"]
<my image displayed here>
"this is the caption"[/caption]

    How can I resolve this apart from switching to a different Theme?
