    Hi there,
I have some trouble with the captions of my pictures.
When I insert the pictures via AddMedia–>NextGenGallery it shows the caption (as you can see by clicking the first picture).
When I add media from the wordpress mediathek instead, it does not show anything – to be more correct it puts the description under the picture and not as description on/under the picture when it is opened.
In the settings I choosed “fancybox” and “try to use for all pictures”.
However. I tried a lot and it does not work as expected. Can anyone help me please?
The second thing is the question if there is any option to group the pictures in a post when there are more than one in it – right now I need to click on the first, then close it, click the next and so on. There are no arrows.
    Thanks in advance, Suna.

EDIT: Due to another problem (Fancybox tried to show a thumbnail of sticky post as a picture but it should be the link to the post…), I needed to switch to Simplylightbox. This one has another problem as you can see when you star at https://kulturpilger.spuweb.de/ If you now click at the first pictures, it groups as desired above and I can switch to the next one. But it will go further even if there is no pictures. After an error it shows all pictures of this side and also of the slideshow on the left.

Hi, I am glad to help.

I am sorry but I cannot understand your workflow, what do you mean by “AddMedia–> NextGenGallery” is this from a page builder, gutenberg editor, classic editor, the media library? Please explain the steps you take before the “Add Media” one.

And for your second question unfortunately not.

Thanks and I’ll be waiting for your reply.

I am using the normal classic editor and wanted to make a new post. The same is when I want to make a site.
to #2: this is a pitty. Is there something in planning? It is a bit annoying.
Like my editional writing with the bugs.

    Hi @setsunameiou,

All of NextGen Gallery ( free ) lightbox effects would display the image’s Description field so you will need to make sure that there is anything added in this field while visiting a gallery from “Manage Galleries”. The lightbox effects will not display the images’ Titles.

As for SimpleLightbox, that’s the way it currently works and it cannot be limited to displaythe images of a specific gallery only.

Yes. But this is not the problem at all.
I have a picture. It comes with all title, description etc.
It is put into a post (eg https://kulturpilger.spuweb.de/testbeitrag/). I used the classic editor with add media from the normal mediathek. It will add html like:

    [caption id="attachment_9549" align="aligncenter" width="128"]Jihoon Song Jihoon Song[/caption]

Wordpress does not add the “title=”xyz”” automatic to the post. Therefore nextgen does not show the title when the picture opened.

When I now add the title, it works:

    [caption id="attachment_9549" align="aligncenter" width="128"]Jihoon Song Jihoon Song[/caption]

Other galleries and picture plugins go directly to the picture and take the title from there (“simple lightbox” f.e. is able to do this).

So why does it not work?
