Caption does not display

Could you provide an example function that I could paste in my functions.php in my child theme? I don’t know enough PHP to write that function myself…

I only get this far:

function cc_featured_image_caption()

This function doesn’t actually go in functions.php but in the theme file corresponding to the part of your page’s markup where you’d like the caption to display.

I can’t really provide support for individual themes, so my suggestion is to talk to whoever developed your theme about how to customize it.

I have the same problem, my theme is WordPress standard Twenty Fifteen and I have a clean WP install with no plugins but yours. I have checked all 3 boxes in you plugin. Still no captions visible on featured image in single post view. Any ideas?
