Hi- the plugin has been great but I’m trying to get a captcha installed on my form. When I insert the key key and secret and hit save, it says it successfully saved it but the preview is blank and when I refresh it does not show the values anymore. This is on a multisite- is that an issue? Can I insert it into the database somewhere manually? Thanks for your help!

    Hi @joejoejoejoe47

I hope you are doing well today.

Please export your form, upload it to google drive or dropbox, and share a link in your next reply so that we could review your Captcha settings and test that form on our multisite test installation trying to replicate this issue.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

Thanks for the reply! The form itself doesn’t have the captcha because I can’t save the settings: https://code-interactive.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Screenshot-2023-07-11-at-9.41.23-AM.png Do I need to add the captcha before I save the settings?

    Hi @joejoejoejoe47,

After successfully setting up the API key, the next step involves adding the Captcha field to your form, just like any other form field. Please find more about the Captcha field in our documentation here: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#captcha-field

If you still notice the issue, can you please share an export of the form as we requested in our previous response?

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

Hi- the response didn’t apply. It’s not saving the API key and code in the settings. It doesn’t work for hcaptcha either. Can I manually put the codes in the database? If so where can I do that?

    Hi @joejoejoejoe47

Can I manually put the codes in the database? If so where can I do that?

It’s not that simple as it requires modification of serialized arrays and it shouldn’t be done, ever.

The fact that you cannot even save that data means there’s some additional issue, other than just captcha not working. It may be as simple as object cache/server-side cache interfering but it may also be (and most likely is) either some conflict on site or some issue with the DB itself.

This is what should be fixed rather than trying to edit data in DB because the fact this issue is there means you may, quite likely, encounter various other unexpected issues with forms/Forminator over time.

    So let me ask first:

    1. this is the only option in Forminator that you can’t save or there are other parts of the plugin (like other settings or e.g. form editing) that behave in similar way?

    2. is everything else on site working fine? Specifically, I mean other settings – in other plugins or theme on site and also WordPress settings?

    3. Are you using any caching and/or JS optimization plugins/tools on site (if yes, what are they?) and/or is there any server-level caching active (of any kind; if yes – what is it)?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Thanks for the reply.

    1. This has been the only issue that I’ve encountered in the configuration. Other fields save fine.
    2. Site is working optimally.
    3. I deactivated all the other plugins and the problem persisted and it appears that there is no server-level caching.

    Hi @joejoejoejoe47,

I see that you’ve already deactivated all the other plugins. Could you also let us know if you’ve tried switching to a default WordPress theme to further diagnose the issue?

Could you please also share the WordPress system information in your next response so that we could check things further? To share the system information please follow the steps below provided.

    1) Navigate to the “Tools” menu on the left-hand side in WP Dashboard.

    2) Click on “Site Health.”

    3) In the “Site Health” screen, you’ll see an option to “Copy site info to clipboard.” Click on this button.

    4) This will copy the system information to your clipboard.

    5) You can now paste this information into your response here.

This information will include details about your WordPress setup, server environment, active plugins, and themes, which can be helpful for troubleshooting purposes.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John
