I know this is my thread and I have been watching. Tried 4.1.8 and it still doesn’t work.

The captcha system uses the GD library in php, so it must be enabled (it usually is by default).

What is this? How do I activate?

Nope, reverted that hardening in SUCURI to no avail.

I even revoked the re-captcha keys and deactivated the Gravity forms, still that issue.

So strange it worked like a charme before the updates, grrr hate them sometimes.

I will work on adding a different captcha style for the next update.

    Hi Kevin,

    Great thanks you!!

    @ Questas,

There is a simple way to find out about the GD Library version:

Create a simple text document on your computer and name it what you want like:
    GD.php
Then upload this to your domain under the public_html

Then go to the url of your domain lets say: https://www.yourdomain.com and add the GD.php to it. so like this: https://www.yourdomain.com/GD.php.

You will see the version of your GD library:
    Below my result:

    Your GD version is:bundled (2.1.0 compatible)GD Version | bundled (2.1.0 compatible)
    FreeType Support | 1
    FreeType Linkage | with freetype
    T1Lib Support | 1
    GIF Read Support | 1
    GIF Create Support | 1
    JPEG Support | 1
    PNG Support | 1
    WBMP Support | 1
    XPM Support | 1
    XBM Support | 1
    JIS-mapped Japanese Font Support |

    What is the GD library?

GD is an open source code library for the dynamic creation of images by programmers. GD is written in C, and “wrappers” are available for Perl, PHP and other languages. GD creates PNG, JPEG and GIF images, among other formats. GD is commonly used to generate charts, graphics, thumbnails, and most anything else, on the fly. While not restricted to use on the web, the most common applications of GD involve website development.

    Hope this clears things up?
The captcha is an image with mostly numbers. If GD library is not enabled, that could cause this kind of issues, but most of the time it is already enabled and so in this case it seems this is not the cause of our issue eather.

    Hope this clears things up?

Thanks for the explanation on GD. The captcha IS working on my contact forms on all sites, I am using Fast Secure Contact Form plugin for those so I don’t think I am having a GD issue. The one site that my testimonial captcha was working on now isn’t since the WP upgrade.

    Hi Questas,

    YW!

I agree, same here, my Gravity Forms Captcha works fine, only the captcha of the Testimonials has issues after the WP update in 3 sites. It worked fine before the updates.
Although I have one website where it just keeps on working fine even after the WP update.

However knowing Kevin, he will solve this soon ??
For now I deactivate its captcha otherwise customers can not send an e-mail at all.

    Sorry folks….I’m working on it.

Solving a captcha problem you can’t duplicate is very difficult.

I’d rather do my taxes ??

    Haha I hear you!

I it would help, I can provide you login to a test where this is happening?
