  • Thanks, I am testing things here and might be a conflict with the also integraded captcha/Gravity forms. These forms and captcha work fine, but maybe its a conflict. I have one website with your testimonials that still shows the captcha just fine ( also updated all over the place haha ) BUT…no Gravity Forms there so I will test and let you know!

    Hmmm….nope.

    Deactivated the Gravity forms
Removed the Re-captcha keys, but the issue still persists with the Testimonials captcha.

Even deactivated every single plugin except Testimonials and still the captcha issue??

I have also picked up a bust with 4.2 and the Testimonial Basics option system. The color picker is not working correctly on options

I am working on it ??

I have uploaded 4.1.6 to resolve the problem with WordPress 4.2

I was not having any problem with the black and white or the color captcha on my test bed.

The captcha system uses the GD library in php, so it must be enabled (it usually is by default). Can you tell me the version of php you are using? What else may have changed in your site set up?

    Hi Kevin,

Php 5.5.17 on the site that has no issues ( Siteground )
php 5.5.19 on a site that has issues ( neostrada hosting )

I will update to the 4.1.6. and see if this fixes it.
Will get back to you one way or another.

    Thanks,
    Annie

Oh, I see now the most recent version to download is 414 and I have the 515 installed.

Where can I download the 416 please?

To answer your other question, the only changes are all the neccessary updates of plugins and WP.

Actually the version is 4.1.7 and it is available here.
I had problems with the 4.1.6 upload and had to create a new version.

    Whoah…..wait a moment
it was 4.1.7 last night, something has happened

I saw your blogpost and just downloaded the 4.1.8.
Will test it and get back to you.

    Thanks for your great support!

    Sorry Annie
I really don’t know what to tell you. The hardest thing is to troubleshoot a problem that you can’t re-create on the test bed. I am not having any problems here with either the black and white or the color captcha.

Something has changed on your side. If I knew what it was I could recreate it on my test bed and develop a workaround.

Testimonial basics generates the captcha in a php file in the includes directory. The image is created using the GD Library and what I am seeing on this end is it can’t access the url (php file) it needs. If you are preventing access to the testimonial basics plugin files that may be the problem.

    Hi Kevin,

    Very strange indeed.

This topic was started by someone else have this problem.
I dont have it on one site but on three.

Just one site does not have this issue and I have been looking at the difference between them. Now I notice the one site that does not have this issue has no Sucuri installed, the others ones do. I will look into that. Your remark about not getting access to eht php file made me think about the “harden” functions in Sucuri. I will let you know.

    Annie

    Hmmm:

    Restrict wp-includes access
This option blocks direct PHP access to any file inside wp-includes.

I will revert that option, see what happens.
Thing is thats not new, so it worked before.
Only thing ofcourse that they updated as well ( Sucuri I mean ).
