    Hello,

We have been getting the error message when trying to login:
CAPTCHA EXPIRED: The CAPTCHA verification for this login attempt has expired. Please try again.

We have tried these steps with no success:

    • Uninstalling and reinstalling Wordfence
    • Disabling every plugin except Wordfence and defaulting to the default theme.
    • Getting new reCAPTCHA keys from Google
    • Trying different score numbers.

We are running 6.5.2 for WP and 7.11.5 for WF.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @abitech,

Thank you for reaching out to us.  Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

If you’re the only user logging in and have a static IP, you can configure your IP to bypass the reCAPTCHA check using the Allowlisted IP addresses that bypass 2FA and reCAPTCHA option in Wordfence > Login Security > Settings > General.? You can read more details on this at https://www.wordfence.com/help/login-security/#general?

    Thanks,
    Margaret

    Hi @abitech,

Thank you for sending the diagnostics. Visitor IP addresses are being recognized as the Cloudflare IP on your website.  Please  look up your public facing IP address at https://www.whatismyipaddress.com/ and visit Wordfence > Dashboard > Global Options > General Wordfence Options > How does Wordfence get IPs and cycle through the options. Your IP address should match the IP address shown on the line “Your IP with this setting“. Make sure to click SAVE CHANGES if you have to change this setting.

You also had several cron jobs that were overdue.  Cron jobs are enabled in your settings, so you’ll want to reach out to your host to test the cron jobs and ensure they are running successfully on your website.

Please try disabling the plugin Login with Google temporarily to test for any compatibility issues.  You are using a custom login flow, so there may be a conflict due to this.  The Wordfence login security features are primarily made for the default WordPress login flow with added compatibility with WooCommerce.

If the issue continues, please also try disabling WPBakery temporarily and let us know if you still see the same error when logging in.

    Thanks,
    Margaret

    Hello,

Thank you for your response. We are still having issues after trying the steps you have mentioned.
I have sent another report from our test website which is just the clone of our main website but with all the other plugins disabled except for Wordfence.
Please let me know if you are able to find anything that would fix this.

    Thanks,

    Hi @abitech,

Thanks for sending in the diagnostics for that cloned site.  On the cloned site, we’re seeing a must use plugin for ManageWP – Worker Loader (0-worker) that is still active.  To rule this out as having any impact, please disable this as well, and make sure to clear any caching that might be involved with the site.

Was the reCAPTCHA login working for you previously?  If not, please double-check to ensure you generated a v3 reCAPTCHA key, as the v2 keys are not compatible.

    Thanks,
    Margaret

    Hello,

ManageWP plugin should’ve been disabled. However, even after that plugin was disabled, we were still experiencing the same issue.

Yes, the login was working for us previously and we are currently using v3 reCAPTCHA key.

    Thanks,

    Hi @abitech,

Thanks for confirming that.? On the test site, you have a drop-in plugin object-cache.php.? Can you clear that cache?? If not, can you temporarily rename the plugin file to disable it?? Once that’s been cleared or disabled, please try logging in again and let us know if the issue continues.

    Thank you!
