• Good afternoon,

    I have two questions:

    1) Is there any way to prevent SpeakOut! from collecting IP addresses of signers in the wordpress database?

    2) Instead of using hCaptcha or reCaptacha, would it be possible to create a field that must be filled in with a specific answer, without which the signature cannot be submitted?

Thank you very much and have a happy new year!

So sorry I missed this, I just saw the email notification

No, not at the moment, but I am going to make it an option in future versions.

I could do that, but spammer robots are pretty clever these days and I suspect that doing what you ask wouldn’t stop them. From my point of view it seems to be recreating something (a captcha) that is already available and working well. hCaptcha is a good alternative if you are wanting to avoid the google data collecting machine.

I hope that helps a bit.

Yes, I believe that spam robots are clever these days. But it would be good if there was a way to at least reduce the problem without transferring data to other servers abroad. hCaptcha is certainly more data protection-friendly than Google, but according to European data protection laws, both are to be avoided because data is transferred to the USA. Thank you for your work!
