    I’ve read the problems where…. if you give a user (e.g. editor) the capability to Edit Publish Posts, they can just bypass Revisionize.

    So, I’ve turned off the edit_published_pages. But that also turns off Revisionize. So, is it possible to then just add a capability for that user role? And what would the coding be for that?

  • Just ran into this too. The ability to customize control over who can revisionize for us is mission-critical. I’ve got a PR into the plugin’s git repo to fix this very problem.

    Revisionize 1.3.0 includes the changes that @ryanshoover made. This gives you the ability to override the default permissions used by Revisionize. Documentation isn’t complete, but viewing Hoover’s link above should get you started.

    Thanks a lot for this improvement, this is just what I was looking for (I today use Revisionay plugin but am looking for a replacement since it is not maintained anymore).

    Just to be sure : Am I right that those new capabilities are now for me to take into account in the functions.php file refining the roles by redefining the function “writer_set_roles()”?
