• Just discovered a bug/conflict between CAOS and Elementor. Starting around mid Feb 2022 my Elementor sites stopped sending data to Google Analytics. I just discovered this bug Aug 7, figured out the conflict Aug 9 by deactivating CAOS on all my Elementor and non-Elementor Sites and data from the Elementor sites started flowing to Google Analytics again. Interestingly, Google Tag Assistant would not connect on any sites running Elementor and CAOS, and even the non-Elementor sites usually would not connect using Google Tag Assistant if the CAOS app was active, get I was getting GA data sent. As soon as I turned off all CAOS plugins, both Elementor and non-Elementor sites connected fine using Google Tag Assistant.
I left one site for you to look at and figure out the problem. I like the CAOS plugin so I hope you fix it and get back to me to verify. I don’t monitor GA traffic for clients unless I’m writing blog posts for them, and none of the Elementor based sites were, and the non-Elementor sites that I do write blog posts and monitor GA on, were not showing an issue – hence a long time to catch this.

    Hi!

Oh my God, sorry for not responding — AT ALL!

First, I suggest you change CAOS’ caching directory (Advanced Settings) to something not including the word ‘analytics’, so just ‘caos’ will suffice.

I checked the site and noticed that the Google Analytics API isn’t being hit at all. Then I checked the page source and noticed this attribute being added to it: o/js-lzl.

I’m carefully assuming JS-LZL stands for JS LazyLoad? If so, that might be messing with the execution of the code. Try to exclude all files in the /uploads/caos/ (or whatever you decided to set the cache directory to) folder to make sure they’re not lazy loaded.

Looking forward to your findings and again, sorry for the long wait!
