When I try to view my homepage, Firefox give the message “Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”

In Chrome it says “This webpage has a redirect loop”
Safari can’t open because of too many redirects occurred.

If I try to view another page, I can see it fine.

In my WP settings, if I select “Your latest Posts” as my front page, I can see the home page fine. The problem only happens when I try to set a static page as my homepage.

I’ve tried 2 different themes, same issue.

Maybe this has something to do with canonical url’s?

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Are you currently using a security plugin or a plugin like WP HTTPS that has the ability to “force SSL”?

If so, try temporarily disabling those plugins to see if the issue clears.

If it does, try taking a look at the plugin settings to see if you can disable force SSL for that page.

Also try viewing your homepage via WordPress Pages as there could be a setting on that page as well.

    Hi Lorenzo,

The only plugin that would be security related is OptimizePress’ membership plugin. I disabled it but it didn’t do anything.

Could this be a hosting issue? Although I have other sites on the same account and they are fine. Plus, I can see some pages.

Same issue if you temporarily disable all plugins?

Ok, I feel like an idiot. I just went to disable all plugins and then realized I had another membership plugin. I don’t use it, but had it activated. I completely glossed over it.

I deactivated it and all is well now.

    Geez, guess I need glasses.

Anyway, thanks for your time!! I appreciate it
