Can't vew a private reply to me

    Using a ‘participant’ role user, I posted a private reply to someone’s topic and checked the box to be notified by email or replies. I see this morning that they did reply, but all I see is “this reply is private” and did not get the email notice. When I view the topic as an admin user, I see the reply. The original topic author got MY private reply because she replied, I just can’t see her reply. I can’t really share links because it’s a password protected community site. Any guess what’s going on?

    As participants, you can only view private replies that you post and that moderators post to topics you started. You cannot see private replies from other participants.

    So out of curiosity, what is the plugin intended for? I assumed it would allow people to have private communication with each other on a topic if needed, but if you can’t see a private reply someone sends you, that’s obviously not the purpose.

    It’s designed for private communication between the topic creator and moderators, or even topic participants and moderators.
