• I hope someone’s paying attention since Zoho support has been no help.

I’m unable to send mail with this plugin. The Client ID and Secret are correct. I don’t have TFA turned on.

(But when I did, I created an app-specific password but there seems to be no field in the plugin to put the password.)

It’s not my webhost, Namecheap, because gmail SMTP works fine.

In WordPress, the authentication is done via OAuth, which is an open standard for access delegation, commonly used as a way for Internet users to grant websites or applications access to their information on other applications but without giving them the passwords. Hence, it is not necessary to provide an Application-specific password for your WordPress plugin configuration. OAuth is a secure mode of authentication and works based on the Client ID and Client Secret generated from the developer console.

If the issue persists, please drop an email to support <AT> zohomail <DOT> com along with the configuration page screenshot and the error message you get while sending mails. We will review the details and get back to you with a potential resolution.

I was told by a Zoho tech to create an app-specific password. It didn’t make sense to me at the time but then it should not be necessary for me to know anything about Oauth to get this plugin to work as advertised.
