• I’ve already created hundreds of buttons through PayPal.com’s official Button creator, I need to be able to import the code for those buttons into a WordPress page, and have the dropdown select menus working. This doesn’t do that.

    Hi @williamsrdan,

You need to rate a plugin on if it does what it says it will do. No where in the description of this plugin does it say that it can import buttons or have dropdown menus.

If your correct logic is true then you could rate every single plugin in the repository a 1 star because it doesn’t have some “feature”.

This plugin does exactly what it says it does in it’s description, therefore please change your review to reflect that.

Also, importing button isn’t even technically possible. PayPal does not have an API for that.

I was unaware of the lack of api for it, and not really talking about the api, I’m talking about html. I’m able to copy html code into an html editor and it creates buttons for web, I do it for Lightroom, mostly. I don’t see how it can be so difficult to import html into WordPress and have it create buttons and dropdown menus. Maybe my low rating should go to WordPress as a whole for that inability. But it seemed like being able to grab html and create a button based on that html should be a logical part of a plugin designed to use PayPal buttons.

I wouldn’t mark a plugin low for it not having a feature that is unrelated to the purpose of the plugin.

    Hi @williamsrdan,

    Thanks for the reply.

The reason why it is not possible to grab the HTML from a button created on PayPal is because most of the code is not part of the button. The button contains an HTML element called the “hosted id”, which is a unique id that points to settings stored on PayPal.com. If it was technically possible, I would definitely add this as a feature.

I do hope that you can consider changing your rating. This is the first 1 star review that I have had on this plugin in the 3 years since I created it. I work really hard to keep the plugin working and to make sure that users are happy. If you want to reach out to me at https://wpplugin.org/contact I can help make sure that you are happy and that everything is working correctly for you.

    Thanks,
