Can’t Upload .ZIP Plugins in 2.8

I used to be able to do this just fine in 2.7, but now in 2.8 if I go to Plugins >> Add New >> Upload

I am able to Browse my local machine to get the .ZIP file but when I click on “Install Now” I get a message asking me the following:

I have tried a number of different combinations for the login information, such as:

HOSTNAME: https://ftp.mydomain.com
USERNAME: myUserName
PASSWORD: myPassWord
Connection: FTP

HOSTNAME: localhost
USERNAME: myUserName
PASSWORD: myPassWord
Connection: FTP

HOSTNAME: mydomain.com
USERNAME: myUserName
PASSWORD: myPassWord
Connection: FTP
———————————————
HOSTNAME: mydomain.com
USERNAME: [email protected]
PASSWORD: myPassWord
Connection: FTP
———————————————
———————————————

And other a few other methods (from differnt forum posts). I always get this message:

” Failed to connect to FTP Server [whatever I used in HOMENAME from above]:21 “

I believe I have seen this fixed before but you have to make a change in a file somewhere?

Anybody have a good answer to resolve this?
