I have been trying for two days now to upload wordpress to my site. I dont know what I’m doing wrong. I’m very new to this, but I’ve watched every tutorial I could find and I have retraced my steps countless times now and keep getting ‘404 Error Not Found’.
I have the contents of the wordpress folder uploaded to a folder on my site, I’ve edited the wp-config.php with MySQL info. I don’t know what the problem is.
    site is https://www.designgrinder.net

  • Can’t help but notice the bluehost parked/hold page on your domain. Have you contacted support at bluehost?

Yes I sent them a ticket also, but I thought the parked page would be there until wordpress was uploaded to replace it.

Looks like your wordpress is in a subdirectory (www.designgrinder.net/here/) instead of the root of your website (www.designgrinder.net)

Can you tell me which is the URL you desired: https://www.designgrinder.net/here/ or https://www.designgrinder.net

Did you change the WordPress Address (URL) to something else?

Yes, you’re right that was part of the issue. Also when creating my FTP username bluehost creates a predetermined publishing path using the username which I didn’t realize. So I had to re-setup the FTP account and change where it publishes to.
    Thanks for the feedback!
