    Hi,

I can’t upload any images to the Media library. It gives me an error each time. I checked in an FTP program. My uploads folder didn’t exist so I created one with permissions 755.
Still not possible to upload. WordPress asks if the folder above is writable.

    Please help…

I set my uploads folder to 777 and now I can upload. Is it safe to use it like that? Any other things to try out?

I’m having the same trouble as you Ann-Sophie. My third WP site and the first time I am having this trouble. But from what I have read, 777 is unsafe and should be avoided. Let’s watch each others’ threads for a better answer.

Did you test it with the folder set to 775 instead of 777? It’s possible that may work, and that’s a little more secure than 777.

    That does work indeed.
