can’t upload! problem! HELP!

  • when i activate the UPLOAD function, a new button came out known as “UPLOAD”

    then when i click to it, it said,
    It doesn’t look like you can use the file upload feature at this time because the directory you have specified (/home/seville/public_html/blog/wp-content) doesn’t appear to be writable by WordPress. Check the permissions on the directory and for typos.

    then i tried to change it’s permission! but it didn’t work! help….just let me know how to deal with it. thanks

    but now comes a new question:
    how to track back my files??

    What do you mean “trackback”? Which files?

    well, moshu, there’s one upload button next to OPTIONS.
    i’ve changed the wp-content file permission to 777, so upload works
    and whenever i upload a file, it’ll be in my wp-content directory

    but i just don’t know how to “track back” my files inside my wordpress interface. get what i mean? thanks

    If you mean “keeping track” what you have uploaded… unfortunately at this moment WP cannot do that. You have to copy the string given after the upload to insert an image into your post. As for images uploaded earlier – you have to check for their name via FTP, I guess.
    However, you could use a plugin like IImage browser; it makes possible to see your image list from the admin interface. (I don’t use it, so don’t ask me how does it work:)

    I use IImage browser and I find it helps in not only keeping track of used images but also makes it easier to reusing them for future use.

    yes, it is indeed, if one can’t keep track of what is upload, it’s hard to reuse them in future!
    great, maybe ill get this plugin later
