• I am having trouble uploading a video to my wordpress site. I have also tried embedding the same video from my YouTube channel without luck.

This is the error I get:
Unexpected response from the server. The file may have been uploaded successfully. Check in the Media Library or reload the page.

This is my first time trying to add a video to this site – can’t figure out why it is not working.

    I’ve checked permissions, checked storage.

EDIT: I am also having an issue with embedding through YouTube. I’ve tried many videos and always get the same error message: youtube.com refused to connect. Videos are Public and Allow embedding.

    Please Help!

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Hi James,

    Thank-You for your help.

I did as you said, disabled all plugins and activated Twenty Nineteen theme. I was able to easily upload the video. I switched back to Divi without enabling any plugins and the video would not upload.

Any advice on what I should do from here? Clearly, it is Divi that is causing the issue.

    Thank You again!

Since that is a commercial theme, we ask that you please go to their official support channel, so you can get support from the people who know it best: https://www.elegantthemes.com/contact/

Forum volunteers are not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working properly. Other community members who may have faced your issue might be able to help you but your best bet is your product’s developer. Keep in mind we encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code and gives back to the community in a more robust way.

@wessona , can you share with me your youtube video url so I can take a look?
