• Hey,

I am having trouble uploading my theme I purchased from themeforset, The theme is wordpress compatible and I have uploaded it onto my server via FTP and it has transferred across but I am not sure I am transferring it to the the right place, I have tried it a few different ways and nothing has worked. although now the “.zip” file with the theme in it has showed up in my cPanel file manager, but I am not really tech savvy and can not figure out how to upload the theme onto my site?? any help would be greatly appreciated this is really frustrating me ??

My Domain and Hosting is through Zuver if that helps and the file is a bodega.zip theme.

    Thanks C.J

  • Ive seen a couple of zip-files from themeforest and theyre unfortenately not compatible with the inbuilt themeuploader. What you have to do is extract teh zip file locally on your computer, then look for a folder with a file called: style.css in it (eg: mytheme\style.css). You need to upload the whole “mytheme” folder to your wp-content/themes/ folder (so style.css is wp-content/themes/mytheme/style.css on the server, but not just that file). mytheme is ofcourse called something completely different in your case.

    Hi,

Please make sure that you have uploaded theme under following directory:

    wp-content/themes

You need to create a directory to save your theme in the wp-content/themes directory.

For example, a Theme named Test should be in wp-content/themes/test.
Extract the zip of theme files to the new directory on your host server. That’s it …Theme is installed.

To select a Theme for your site:

Log in to the WordPress Administration Panels.
Select the Appearance panel, then Themes.
From the Themes panel, roll over the Theme thumbnail image for the Theme you are interested in to see options for that theme.
You can view more information about any theme by clicking Theme Details.
A live preview of any Theme (using your blog’s content) can be seen by clicking Live Preview.
To activate the Theme click the Activate button

Please let me know if you need any further help.

    Thanks,
