    Hi

I’ve noticed when trying to register, users of my site seem to have issues uploading profile photos with “jpeg” file extension. But not issues with “jpg.”

When trying to use “jpeg” file the following error appears above the registration form:

“Profile picture / avatar” (filetype jpeg) needs to be one of the following file types: Array

    Do you have any advice?

    Thank you
    Mike

    Hi @ms416 ,

I went ahead and checked this from my end but it seems that I was not able to replicate the issue from my end, while it took longer for the jpeg format to load than the jpg, the upload was still successful.

Please ensure that you’re using the updated version and if the issue persists, let me know and I’ll be glad to further investigate this.

You can also test this by deactivating other plugins and leaving WPUM active to see if it is being caused by a conflict.

Actually I have determined the error is mine but I have a suggestion. In the custom fields area, if you click profile picture and validation area it suggests “Comma Separated List of allowed file types, (i.e. jpg, gif, png, pdf)” – so that’s what I typed in the field.

Excluding “jpeg” obviously is a mistake. Perhaps you guys can adjust this field to show “jpeg / jpg” so nobody else makes this error?

Out of my 100 or so users at least 15 or more seem to have had no ability to use “jpeg” because of this. So no profile pic displays for them. It’s unfortunate that happened.

    Thank you for your assistance.
