can't upload images

You should be able to upload images with any dimensions.

Are you trying to upload within a particular block? Can you describe what happens and any messages you see?

Does anything happen when you click the “Choose Image” button within a block?

Can you try pasting an image url directly in the image field as well?

One other thing to try is to temporarily activate another theme and see if images work for you.
