Can’t upload if you give WordPress its own directory

  • Giving WordPress Its Own Directory

    Followed these instructions exactly and everything works fine EXCEPT when I tried to upload an image in a post, I got an error that said the upload directory could not be created. The path it gave DID NOT include the directory I gave WordPress. It seems a path was hard-coded into the upload script somewhere.

  • Look in settings/miscellaneous and see if the path is correct there.

    Good call. I didn’t even think to check the settings. I need to remember that EVERYTHING in WordPress is a setting or option somewhere. I think maybe they just need to add that small bit of information to the instructions I read.
