Can’t upload file

I am trying to upload a pdf to the plugin that will be available for download. The pdf is about 10 MB
I can select the file, and the green bar fills up but then it stays that way, and when I click publish it’s gone and the file hasn’t been added to it. When I try adding it in the “Add Media” section of wordpress, it says “Http Error”
There is another pdf sent to me from the same person that I was able to upload just fine. That one is sized 31 Mb. Both pdfs were originally 50-70 MB so I had to compress them using: https://smallpdf.com/
Can you please help me? The first, smaller pdf is the important one I need. I only uploaded the 2nd larger pdf to try and figure out what was going on.

If the PDF file is larger than your server’s max upload limit, you need to enable chunk upload from wpdm settings:
