For some reason I can’t upload 1 specific image to WordPress. It’s less than 400k so the size isn’t the issue. I renamed it too and that didn’t work. I have tried a few other images with no problems.

The error couldn’t be any more vague…

    news-header.jpg

An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

Oddly enough the file shows up in the media manager but is just a default gray document image and the image is not really there.

I thought maybe I was out of space with my host and I removed old data that was no longer needed, freed up about 265MB of space.

Anyone got any ideas for me? I have wasted a day on this.

Try disabling all of your plugins and trying again. Then turn them on one by one to see if any of them stop images from being uploaded.

Also, make sure that the image doesn’t already exist on the site and if it does, delete it and try to upload it again. Usually it’ll be a plugin or a corrupt image etc.

what is the format of the image? jpg, gif, png etc.

@daniel – It’s live website, would rather not do that if I can help it.

@contentiskey – JPG image a tad less than 400k. I reduced the image size and saved as a PNG and now it uploads. What is odd is I didn’t get any of the “upload feedback”. Dragged and dropped the new PNG, nothing happened, dragged and dropped it 2 more times and still nothing. Dragged and dropped another image still nothing. Hit refresh and they all are there.
