• Hi

Have been running WP1.2 for a year now. Decided to upgrade to WP 1.5, trash the layout and make a new one.

I made a backup of the database and of the wp 1.2 folder on the server, disabled the plugins, dl WP 1.5, changed chmod to 777 on all files in the WP 1.5 folder, deleted everything from the server except the config.php file, uploaded the wp 1.5 folder, dropped the config.php file into the new wp folder on the server and pointed my browser to:

    https://www.android8.users.whitehat.dk/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php

For some odd reason I’m prompted with a message saying that the file does not exist on the server. I can see the file via my ftp-client (Transmit…MacOS X) on the server, but as written above..I can’t access it via my browser. In short: I can’t run wp-admin/upgrade.php…

Thank God for backups…I’ve uploaded my WP1.2 folder to the server, so my blog is up and running again. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

  • hmm… maybe try to pass in the full URL (should normally get there automatically):
    …/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php?step=1

I just did an “emerge update” with Gentoo, since the new ebuild is now officially out, and upgrading was a breeze…

Thx. Grexe…I’ll give it a try!
