• As of March 6th, 2015 I have reinstalled this plugin and found it functioning soundly.

Been running the last version before the upgrade to 2.0 but even the version before has ceased to allow uploads claiming my browsers (yes all of them) doesn’t posses flash, silverlight, html 4 or 5. Tried again to install the latest update 2.6x and it refuses to show any of the image galleries now but the backend seems to run fine, fat lot of good that does me.
This used to be the go-to plugin but it’s just causing me nothing but pain. I’ve tried everything I know to track the problem since July 2013 but I finally gave up today. I’m going to have to rebuild dozens of galleries for free in another program just to replace this plugin. What a waste of time and energy.

@blairw – Sorry to read you are having these issues … did you submit any Bug Reports (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) related to the problems you are having?

It’s been almost a year and I’ve submitted more than a hundred bug reports to various developers since NG went to 2.0 so I couldn’t tell you if I did or didn’t at this point. Most likely I did but who knows anymore, things move fast on my end.

@blairw – You’re still welcome to submit one for any new/current issue(s) you may have with NextGEN Gallery. We would like to at least have a look at what you are seeing so we can try to address the problem if possible.

… and thanks for your response!

I updated the NG to 2.0.66 yesterday and the back end just had TAGs available and all the rest of the backend options were missing. Not sure why (as they were there last week when I dialed it back again to 1.9x) but I don’t really have time to investigate. I’m getting ready to do some security updates/manipulations right now so I really can’t spare the site for study at this time. As soon as I finish up I’ll try to get a bug report in and set up back end access for your team, no promises though, I’m buried in multiple client accounts as well as outside responsibilities.

@blairw – The issue of only seeing the Manage Tags menu items is still a bit of a mystery as to why it happens exactly but we have found using our external Reset Tool plugin *twice* in a row generally sort out the “permissions” issue that are being created by other plugins (generally security related).

If you are interested, please send in a Bug Report (see link above) so we can get the external Reset Tool out to you.

    Thanks!

@blairw – Just following up on some old reviews.

As you know this review was written following a major overhaul of the plugin in version 2.0. At this point, most issues related to that overhaul of the plugin have been long addressed.

I’m not sure if you’re still using NextGEN now, but given the current performance of the plugin, a zero-star rating seems a bit harsh, and we’re wondering if you might consider revising your rating?

Let us know if you have question. Thanks. (Erick)

I am rebuilding a website shortly and will have the opportunity to test the latest version of the plugin. I’ll update my findings here.

I’ve plugged it into a rebuild I was working on and it seems to be functioning very well for the limited use I need it for.
