• Hi everyone,

On a couple of wordpress blogs I can’t upgrade plugins, getting this error:

    Username/Password incorrect for mysite.com

At ther same time, on other WP blogs on the SAME server with the SAME IP address plugins upgrade fine.

Ftp user and folder permissions are the same as on working blogs.

Please suggest how to fix this.

    thanks a lot

    P.S.
The version of WP on “not-working” blogs are 2.8.4 and 3.0.4
But even on blogs with older WP versions plugins upgrade without problems.

Problem is solved: folder user didn’t correspond to the ftp user.

Confusion was that there was folder user (myname) with EXACTLY THE SAME name as the ftp user (myname), but folders must have had a different user (apache)!

    SUMMARY:
    ——–
    WORNG SETTINGS WERE:
    folder user: myname
    user group: apache
    ftp user: myname

    RIGHT SETTINGS ARE:
    folder user: apache
    user group: apache
    ftp user: myname
