can’t update wp mail smtp plugin

    my wordpress version is 6.3.2, wp mail smtp version is 2.3.1, when I want to upgrade to the latest version, as in the image, the “cannot update” button appears and does not allow me to update. can you help me with this, what could be the reason?

    Thanks for reaching out.

    I see that your site is running WP Mail SMTP version 2.3.1, and we’re currently on version 3.9.0. Besides adding new features and enhancements, plugin updates also fix known issues. It’s possible that this is either causing or contributing to the issue that you’re facing.

    When you get some time, please deactivate and delete the current version of WP Mail SMTP on your site. Then try reinstalling the latest version directly.

    Also, please kindly bear in mind that deleting and reinstalling the plugin will not cause you to lose any of your email settings or configurations. By reinstalling the plugin, they will still be there as they were in your previous install.
