  • Same here, upgrade process says 0% but in the log an endless amount of lines ‘Upgrades started’ is being produced, with no end in sight, it seems. we have quite a few hundreds of articles on the site, some out of CPT/ACF, maybe it just takes that long? But would be great if someone can look at that.

@liebberger, @guy101 – Sorry to hear that. It shouldn’t take too long generally, so its likely there was an error during the process and it never finished.

It only has to migrate our data, not anything with posts etc.

If you can follow the guide?here, and send a token via the?support?form I will be happy to check it out directly.

It would also be helpful to get any PHP error log messages that might have occurred during this time.

In any case I will be working out kinks in the new version all day(week if needed). Rest assured we will get it worked out.

I have the same issue. Just updated the plugin to the latest version, got the “database needs update” button, but nothing happens when I press it. Update gets stuck at 0%, and my content_control shortcodes no longer have any effect on the page they are on. I’ve submitted a support ticket as well.

Can everyone confirm they were not using the Global Restrictions prior to v2 found under Settings -> Content Control. For example if you primarily used the [content_control] shortcode or widget controls?

I’ve had 3 other similar cases I’ve studied and just found that all actually had 0 restrictions to migrate and that is where it was getting stuck.

    Hi @danieliser,
i tryed to update now to 2.0.5 and the issue still remains.
i actually think my client did use the shortcodes but i dont know were, is there a way around it? or a way to downgrade?

iv’e sent you a support token via the support link you linked

@guy101 – Sorry for the confusion, basically if you only used the shortcode our upgrader is crashing for some reason.

I have a fix coming but its almost 5am here and I need to get some sleep. I have my team looking over the solution to hopefully make sure we don’t miss anything or cause any side effects.

We are also adding a step to save a backup file prior to processing migrations going forward so there won’t be any concerns.

Also as of now there were no migrations or changes to the shortcodes, so if that is all you used it for before, they should work as expected even if upgrades haven’t completed yet.

@danieliser its ok ill wait, thanks a lot!
    get some sleep ??

Same issue here. Using Content Control to make some menu items only visible to specific roles and that still works.

    WP 6.3.1 , PHP 8.1.23 , 10.4.30-MariaDB-cll-lve.

Update incoming @guy101, @henro2k, @liebberger – Update to v2.0.6 and try the upgrader again, it should complete this time if you were one of those affected with no restrictions to migrate.

Thanks, @danieliser that works. In a split-second we got:

    User meta migrated
    Upgrades complete with errors.

yea v2.0.6 seem to be working!

@guy101 – Awesome, Please take a moment to?rate & review?the plugin and or support to spread the word.

I decided to make a site with 0 restrictions say its complete with errors. Mainly this is to get your attention and check the logs. If you see 0 restrictions migrated but you had a dozen, you would know something went wrong.

I also added an automated backup of data prior to the upgrades processing now which you would also see in the logs and be able to verify or restore if needed.

I’m open to suggestions on how we might improve that process to both be smooth & intuitive in these scenarios. But your all good to go I believe.

Also please take a moment to?rate & review?the plugin and or support to spread the word if don’t mind.

I have the same issue. The “database needs update” process gets stuck at 100%. And the entire website is no longer accessible. Every time a page is accessed, it ends with Error 504 after it loads endlessly.

Simply replacing the plugin folder with the old version is not enough. Only after resetting to the last complete backup does everything work again.

I have general rules and shortcodes within text elements of the Enfold theme layout builder.

What is the final version of Content Control without this database upgrade?
