Cant update plugins

I am expericing this when trying to update my plugins i havent altered anything at all wesbaun.com

Update failed: Download failed. cURL error 28: Connection timeout after 10001 ms

its also happening on my other site convertiblehydraulicseals.com

Update failed: 500 Internal Server Error Request Timeout This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase ‘Connection Timeout’.
