Here is the error I get when I try to add fb’s pixel code into my header (oceanwp theme) -Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.

How can I fix this issue?

Hello, never try to change any files in the parent theme, if you want to edit a file, add it in your child theme and add your code in the file, then upload it to your site via FTP.

I created a child theme and was able to paste the pixel code and save it (but it didn’t work) Then when I try to paste the code in again. I get the ‘Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.’ message

    I don’t get it.

I never recommend to edit a file via your dashboard, you need to use a software like Filezilla.
