• Hello, I am getting an error regarding the new update. I developed my site locally with XAMPP/Bitnami, and just uploaded it to the new domain using Duplicator. When I moved it, the config file had a bit of bad php that was duplicating the domain, which I fixed. I noticed at the time that there was a string of odd code below it that said
define('WP_TEMP_DIR', 'C:/xampp/apps/wordpress/tmp'); and figured it would cause an issue at some point. Well, two days later that file comes up as the reason I can’t update.

I know I need to point it to a valid folder on the new server, but I’m not sure how to do this. I am a total newb, and just learned all of this over the past month. Can I just delete this bit of code? Is it necessary? If I do need it, how do I make a new tmp file (and where would I put it on the server?), and how would I format the url to point to it? I have Notepad ++, so I think I can make a file on the server(empty? what would I name it?) Thanks for your help!

Hello, I still haven’t had any feedback on this. I was wondering if anyone’s encountered it as well. I attempted to update WP again, and this is the error I’m receiving.

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Unable to create file C:/xampp/apps/wordpress/tmp/wordpress-3.tmp because No such file or directory in /home/content/35/5914235/html/landscaping/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 155

Warning: unlink(C:/xampp/apps/wordpress/tmp/wordpress-3.tmp) [function.unlink]: No such file or directory in /home/content/35/5914235/html/landscaping/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 479
Download failed.: Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.

    Installation Failed

Anyone out there who can help? Thanks.
