    Hi there –

Somewhat new to WP here…I installed the mg404rewrite plugin, which was neat. It dynamically re-wrote my page and sub-page URLs beautifully.

However, the post (not page) URL rewrite didn’t go so well…it wrote them as https://domain.comcategory/categoryname with no trailing forward slash between the domain suffix and the next character. Obviously, this generates a 404. When I manually type the forward slash into the address bar I’m able to get to the posts, but I cannot figure out why it’s doing that, OOTB.

So, I uninstalled the plugin by deactivating it. Guess what? The URLs continued to re-write. OK. So, I deleted this plugin from the filesystem. Guess what? It continued to re-write the URLs dynamically.

Am I in the twilight zone? Help is appreciated.

    Hello LSmith,

this plugin will not rewrite any URL. The URLs will be rewrite by WordPress. You have to set the permalinks to standard.

Remember, this plugin is required to use beautify permalinks if the provider does not support URL rewriting only.
