Cant translate certain stuff
-
Hi, I am unable to translate error message upon entering wrong credentials on login page:
https://cln.sh/38VnSjSQNor the “Sign in with” buttons if using google / twitter sign in. I also found some other stuff. What’s up with TutorLMS having such a translation issues and not having all strings in the language file?

Hello @smexhy ,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
The error message shown in the screenshot should automatically translate to the language set for your WordPress site. You can check this setting by navigating to wp-admin -> Settings -> General -> Site Language. The error message will display in the language selected in this option, so please ensure it’s set correctly.
As for the ‘Sign in with Twitter’ or ‘sign in with Google’ button, this text is controlled by social media like google and Twitter’s API and cannot be translated within Tutor LMS. The language of the button is determined by the language set in your google account and Twitter account. If your Twitter account is set to English, the button will appear in English.
I hope this clarifies your concerns. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out—we’re here to help.
best Regards,
SrijoniThe error message was actually from WordFence which can be translated in their plugin’s language files normally after I have found out it belongs to that.
You are correct about the Google: once I’ve set it up, it translated the button automatically to my account’s language. However Facebook didn’t and there is no option to set language of my Facebook developer account nor the app itself. I think there should be some override translation for these, as I have used them multiple times through different plugins and I was always able to translate those without any issue. It looks a bit unprofessional if everything else is in different language but that one button.Hello @smexhy ,
We are glad that you found out the text location.Thank you for your feedback.Regarding the Facebook button, unfortunately, the translation is controlled by Facebook’s API, and if they don’t provide an option to change the language, it’s beyond our control to override it. We understand that this may feel inconsistent, but without support from Facebook’s side, we’re unable to modify the button’s text directly.

Best Regards,
SunjidaI actually found in their documentation script which is required to specify default language of the website so that the buttons and other Facebook assets on the website are loaded in that specific language. I was able to fix this, thanks.
I have one more question though. When you add a long course info, there is this short excerpt of it instead of full text. You can display it all by clicking “Show more” but is it possible to just display all by default instead?
Hello @smexhy ,
Thank you for informing us that the translation issue is resolved.
If you’d like to remove the ‘See more’ button and display the full content of the ‘About Courses’ section, this can be achieved by making some code customizations. To assist you with this, we’ll need to know which theme you’re currently using. Could you please provide us with the theme name so we can guide you accordingly?
If you’re comfortable proceeding with the customization, feel free to let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Best Regards,Sunjida
I just found out all I had to do is diable “Content Summary” in the general settings ??
But I was unable to translate these strings and have some issues with others:“Manage Login Sessions” tab in Dashboard > Profile > Settings
Months from "January" to "December" - all across the plugin, for example after submitting assignment, date has english months even though it’s translated in the file
“All of your active login sessions have been removed. You can login now.” - this is in the translation file but after being translated string stays the same.
“Undefined” - if you forbid sharing your last name in google with others, when registering with google button, your name will have Undefined + Part of the name publicly available.
“by” - for example in email template New announcement posted
“Student info” - A Student Completed Course email template
“Size” - when assignment is uploaded. The size number is also in weird format.
“Do You Want to Delete This Assignment” - not in translation file
“Are you sure you want to delete this assignment permanently from the course? Please confirm your choice.” - not in translation file
“Course status updated” - not in file
“Max %s file allowed to upload” - translated in file, changes not reflected on site again
“Course Taken” - translated in file, untranslated on website
“Download CSV” - can’t be translated, can be found on Export tab in dashboard - analytics
Not being able to set Monday as start of the week in calendar
Not able to translate week days in calendar
“Files supported:” is empty and there are no files listed. It appears near buttons with upload function, like uploading signature on profile.
“Create Announcement” - its translated in files, still showing english on website. You can find it in dashboard - announcements (if logged as instructor) and when adding new announcement the title at the top is the one with issue
"Search ..." - in filters in wp administration for courses, assignments, etc.Hello @smexhy ,
Apologies for any confusion earlier. I’m glad you found the option to display the full description by default.
For any translation issues on your site, you can use the Loco Translate plugin to update specific text strings. If you require further assistance, feel free to reach out—we’re always here to help.
Best Regards,
SunjidaHi, all these strings are either unavailable in Loco or are available but won’t translate on live site (even without cache plugin).
Hello @smexhy ,
In that case, without the access to your site, we could not investigate the issue. Please contact tutorlms dot com . And mention your problem there.
Best Regards,
Sunjida
