Can’t transfer domain away from WordPress.com

  • I just signed up with Bluehost and am going through the steps to transfer my blog to them, but I’m stuck tranfering the domain (which I purchased at WordPress.com).

    I go through the procedures listed under Options/Domains. I get the email to reset my password and get an account # that’s good for 2 hours.

    But then I can’t log in to the site (the one you need the password for). Every time I try to get to the log-in page I get “Sorry, this page does not exist.”

    So I tried calling the number found on the email I got (if I still had problems). The person on the other end said the they won’t service the customer number I gave her (the one I got under Options/Domains) from WordPress.

    I’ve emailed support at WordPress.com twice now but have gotten no reply.

    This is getting frustrating! What am I doing wrong? This just doesn’t make any sence.

  • If you own the domain, then if you can’t get satisfaction from wordpress.com, then transfer your domain to another registrar.

    Hi Chris.

    I have the same problem too. I couldn’t get my domain name ie. aidilomar.com to my web host Siteground. I tried to obtain the auth code but I had to enter security codes which I do not have to get that dang auth code.

    Now I’m stumped. I emailed wordpress.com for help but so far there is no real help. I have my blog under the same domain name (the nameservers pointed to SG)and thank god it is doing ok for now.

    But the real issue is I want to transfer my domain name out of wordpress.com but unable to do so. It is so frustrating. Someone please help me. :’-(
