cant track events

i set up the program
if i understand it correct i should only put in my google tag Global Site Tag ID (gtag.js) in the elementor settings page and not check the Add gtag simple tracking code box since i already have tracking set up my a plug in called analytics cat. but i tried both to check and uncheck the box and events does not seem to show up in analytics no matter what i do?
i am trying to track a button and have chosen Add gtag simple tracking code and filled out the info but there are no result?

I have free version of elementor. is this a problem?
Should i also be able to track things like people starting a video on my site?
