• Hi all –

New issue – I can’t seem to toggle between the text/visual editor on anything in my site – Pages, Posts, Custom Post Types etc… Its always stuck on the TEXT tab and nothing happens when I attempt to click visual.

I installed health check plugin and disabled everything except generic WP theme and the Classic Editor plugin and the issue is still there so it doesn’t seem to be related to a theme or plugin.

    Anyone else had this happen?

    Thanks in advance

    Matt

    Hi Joy –

Thanks so much for your response. The Disable Visual Editing is not checked under my user account – or all the other users having this issue.

I think the issue lies with tinyMCE but unsure about how to go about resolving it

    That first line
wp-tinymce.js:3 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input
indicates that the file is truncated. So then it doesn’t load and doesn’t work.
Go to the admin Update page and click on Reinstall.

I dont have a plugin called tinyMCE or anything related to that specifically. where can I find the place to update?

    Thank you!

It’s not a plugin. TinyMCE is the classic editor. It is built-in to core WordPress.
The Update page is in the admin menu. It’s where you go to update WordPress, but instead of updating, you need to click Reinstall to fix the corrupted file(s).
